But shout-out to Blind Date, one of the great guilty pleasure shows. Certainly a different era though.

I lived on the same dorm floor in college at Colorado as a couple sports nuts from New York. They talked about how much Sterling sucked. Then he got a job on TBS broadcasts and was so much worse than what I expected.

I only heard Rust once or twice, but my New York friends thought he was OK.

Agreed. And I'm sure Clough was on the high end of the salary structure at the Fan, outside of Schlereth. The rest of their lineup is meh, including Douche-Mac and the other Manning hanger-ons they employ.

Ran across the Fox Sports radio lineup. The weekends boast some blasts from the past in Steve Hartman and Arnie Spanier. Never heard, or heard of, most of the other guys.

FSR just cut Gottleb's show one hourfor these two bozos - but I'm thankful they won't be cluttering up Sunday aftternoon/evening airwaves. I've never heard a sports radio show talk less about sports on Sunday afternoons when you have pretty much everything to talk about.

I swear Ben Maller has been there almost as long as there has been an FSR. The peak for me will always be when it launched in 2000 to around 2004 when they had Tony Bruno in the mornings, Czabe in the evenings and Kiley and Booms in drive time.

Was Czabe ever on in the evenings? I always remember him on the dawn shift from 6-9 a.m. EST.
On a side note, hearing my paper get a shout-out as an insert of the Daily Czabe was a career highlight.

2002-2004 he was 6-9 p.m. I’d listen on my way home from night classes.

I sometimes catch Ben Maller early on the mornings in my market. In my opinion, it’s terrible radio and wildly uninviting to new listeners. Lots of call in games and inside baseball talk with regulars.

I remember Jason Smith from ESPN. Always liked him and think he does a pretty thoughtful job.

My local station is weird in that they play ESPN at night, and sometime around 3AM switch over to Fox for Maller.

Ah, OK. I think I started listening to him around 2006 or 2007, on my way to work in the mornings.

Stupid move: Ditching Czabe for Stephen A. Smith, during SAS' ESPN exile.

I listened to way too much FSR/ESPN Radio in the aughts.

Remember that well. Became a big Czabe fan and have followed him ever since. Could live without his COVID takes but his podcast is still a regular listen.
