Just call me Captain Equity. Equality is for bigots?

homophobia seems to be a hobby for the NBAPA. Who can forget Karl Malone and his ignorance about AIDS and Homosexuality when Magic Johnson got AIDS. Kobe and his use of the f-word.it’s also amazing how some of the richest men in the country who attended some of the best educational institutions spew such bigoted crap about the same group of people over and over again without recriminations.

Wow, kind of surprising. I thought Sarver was going to have to be dragged from his ownership, kicking and screaming, because, well, he's a rich fuck. He's got money, what does he "need" another billion or two from selling the team? He'd rather be known as the owner of the Suns. Wonder if the league has got something even worse under its hat to force him out than what's been divulged so far.

Not a single NBA player has condemned other American men from signing with and playing for Russian basketball teams, despite Brittney Griner being held hostage and Russia butcher women and children and bombing schools and hospitals. L’Bron still quiet about religious persecution, de facto slavery and murder in China while making millions off of the government’s partnership with his businesses, such as Nike. But bagging Sarver is a great reason to celebrate

Sarver made a statement that somehow made me like him even less. He leads with "man of faith" and then explains that he's a big victim here before he even gets to the sale. Adios, dickhead.

I suspect it's a combo of (a) the Suns are already losing sponsors and (b) the possibility of the players taking some action before he returns. If Chris Paul and Devin Booker decided to pressure him he'd be screwed.

You know, here's the thing... I'm not sure if he would be screwed. I think the NBA would be screwed more, because I'm not sure it has the power to completely remove an owner. It's not a Donald Sterling thing, where you can probably get him out of there for competency reasons. If some asshole like Sarver or Snyder in the NFL really digs in, I'm pretty sure they can making things incredibly uncomfortable for the league.

Players will not take any action that causes them to lose a dime. If they won’t sign with Phoenix, that’s one less team offering $100 million over 4 years for a mediocre SG.

Wonder if his peers may have discussed it with him. I'm sure they didn't like the possibility of turning on one of their own or the negative PR from circling the wagons.

They really can't remove him -- they got Sterling out through a pretty complicated process made possible by his wife's willingness to sell.

But if Paul and Booker announced they weren't playing until Sarver agreed to sell, that team would be absolutely dead in Phoenix until Sarver was out. Phoenix fans hated Robert Sarver long before all this came out. Unless he was willing to tank the franchise out of spite he'd have to go. (And he stands to make $600 million plus on the sale so destroying the team isn't in his best interests.)

If Sarver were only a star quarterback. He’d be able to say he was just dumb at the time, made a mistake and he’s sorry.
