As great as Judge is now, they probably shouldn't go all Angels-Pujols here. He's 30. If they go for seven or more years, they'll have to accept that they may get five years of production for the cost of seven.

Someone on Dan Patrick this morning, it may have been Darren Rovell, said it's the owners who want the longer contracts to spread out the luxury tax. So instead of 8 years at $50 million per, it's 10 at $40 million.

The Buhner trade was an example of giving up too much for a veteran. It was also 34 years ago. For both reasons, it really doesn't help your argument.

Judge only doubles in his first AB. Strikes out in his second. What a bum.
I like interleague play, but it wouldn't seem right for that record to be tied or fall in a game between the Yankees and Pirates.

    Payback for Bill Mazeroski.

It’s the resonance of a trade 34 years ago in the minds of Yankee fans as an unforgivable personnel
Decision should weigh in the minds of Yankee ownership should they fail to have Judge in a Yankee uniform for the rest of the decade.

Not even the worst trade in NYY history. Dealing 19-year-old Fred McGriff may get that honor.
Every team has at least one transaction that looks awful in the rear-view mirror.

And the Pirates are going to have to think about doing that in the near future. I hope they do.

The White Sox appear to have given up.

Loving the White Sox meltdown. They crumbled.
