You know, I love that description. It's exactly what I was trying to express in the last post I made about Putin in the Ukraine thread. I was trying to articulate what I meant and struggled to do so, although I still got the point across. I hope.

But your words -- they're it! -- the perfect explanation, and really, the only explanation, for Trump, Trump supporters, Fox "News," Putin, and Putin backers.

 

I'd love for someone to ask Trump why he specifically decided to take and declassify each document - but I doubt he even knows which documents the DOJ is looking at.

 

Yeah, you don't think he actually read them, now, do you?

Which, of course, begs the question: What was he going to do with them?

 

Finally, and better late than never, a fitting tribute to Our National Turd ...

 

I think it did. Trump is largely a (co-)creation of the press, going back decades.

Especially during the go-go 80s and the first blush of that Wall Street 'Masters of the Universe' era.

He was inflating and misrepresenting his holdings and his worth even then - especially then - and using his father's properties for clout with the banks.

I don't have nearly as much faith as you do in the due-diligence practices of his lenders from that period.

I'm sure they were confident of his ability to repay.

But that's why they're called 'confidence men.'
