Georgia: If we ignore it completely, maybe it'll go away on its own. (Sort of like a stray dog on the front porch. Or Herschel Walker.)

"Kids must be back in school. To not to do is child abuse."

"It will help if you get vaccinated. Masks can help."

    "No."

In retrospect, getting kids back in school sooner would have been much better. In addition to the uncertainty, I think some people ignore or underestimate the difficulty of getting thousands of kids on buses and in classes when adults are out sick or worried about being sick. It was no simple task to get things started up again, especially in big cities.

Anyone who expected to smoothly navigate that pandemic is unrealistic. One party refusing to help in any good-faith manner and bowing to kooks and bullies made it much more difficult.

Got my omicron booster on Wednesday at a free clinic at Microville Tech. It was Pfizer, after my first four shots were Moderna. No problems, a little sore arm yesterday but a mile in the pool cured that. I was very glad to see a lot of students were also getting boosted.

It's a PITA but if I have to get one every year, I will. Flu shot is next.

Is anyone else having problems getting a Moderna booster? Some of my family have been trying to get one but are running into major backlogs. I got my Pfizer scheduled but they're having issues with Moderna

Got my Pfizer booster last week. Like Micro, a sore arm for a few hours but no other effects. Flu shot today.

I signed up for the booster/flu shot double for Sunday afternoon and am kinda second guessing myself.

Micro Jr. got Moderna at a Walgreen's in Denver. But you are right, all the places out here have Pfizer but no Moderna.

I’m curious about how that goes. I want to do the double too. The wife does not.

I purposely avoided the double. Got the flu shot an hour ago and zippo problems.

I did both at the same time and had no issues.

The COVID vaccines are very reactogenic as it is. I understand why people are hesitant to get them at the same time as flu.

But there’s no science to suggest any major problems specifically associated with getting them both simultaneously.

And they’re trying to normalize it with the expectation that COVID vaccination will be an annual thing going forward, and the optimal timing will likely align with flu season in most years.
