Let’s not forget it was the progressives who started the book banning. Huck Finn, To Kill a Mockingbird and Of Mice and Men it was determined by progressive were inappropriate for public schools and colleges. Safe spaces were created by liberals so special minorities could have places to escape classes where facts were hurtful.

The saddest, most dangerous and worst thing about all this is that book bans might become more common just because nobody cares, because less and less people actually really read anymore, anyhow.

I'd be willing to bet that most people who support these book bans have not actually read most of the books getting banned. Even we, as readers and thinkers, probably haven't read some of them, so imagine how few others have likely done so.

 

I got a call from the library yesterday asking if I left a sweater in the kids section. They called because they think I was the only adult who brought their child into the section that day.
