If I cherry-picked the very best rounds I've ever had ... I'd be about a 6 (ha!), which would put me in top 12% of men golfers in the U.S. The point being that even to cherry-pick your way to a 2.8, you've got to have thrown some pretty good rounds GHIN's way over the years.

I don't get why people are so dead set on saying he's not a good golfer (and by implication never has been). Is his old ass a 2.8 now? Oh, hell, I doubt that. Father Time is undefeated, yada yada. But there's too much of a track record of him being good.

Plus, his know-it-all-ness (combined with his actually knowing jack shit) is PRECISELY the kind of thing you see from damn good golfers the world over. Pick a golf clubhouse, any golf clubhouse ... in whatever area that serves as the 19th hole, there's some low-handicap dipshit running his stupid mouth on any number of subjects other than golf.

 

Of all the books written about Trump since he was elected, still think Reiley's "Commander in Cheat" explained his MO the best.

He and his sad sack followers appear committed to go around and convince everyone else that he really isn't an ogre. Nota bene, this is a new strategy.

 

A fumble on the play would have utterly shattered his pretense of MaNLy effectiveness. And by the look on his face he knew it.

 

Right. If your handicap is how you tell the world how big your dick is, that's how you'd do it.

 

I'm not saying he isn't a decent golfer, I'm saying he cheats.

As is the case with every number in his life, that 2.8 is a fiction.
