Stathead/Baseball Reference has this one -- like so many -- covered.
Bleier is the first guy called for ≥ 3 balks in a game since 2009. He's the first called for ≥ 3 balks in ≤ 1 IP since 1988.

61 for Judge. And the Toronto fans don't call him out for a curtain call.

The differences between this and when McGwire did it are stunning.

Why would they for a team record that isn't their team?

    Because ... it's 61?

Because ... last time a non-juiced guy did it, they did a made-for-TV movie on it?

So it's for certain Judge is not juiced? Because he's a Yankee? He's a nice guy? It's a contract year?

MLB deadened the ball and just this guy -- only THIS guy -- has 61 home runs and the next closest is 18 back.

Sorry. I'm skeptical. And that's on MLB for making me that way.

    Because it’s the AL record?

And your skepticism is valid. It is also worth noting his career is (September call up) 52, 27, 27, (Covid season), 39 and 61

Except for those 20 games (>12% of schedule) against National League teams and

    *checks notes*

Maris didn't play one game against the NL in 1961.

And this notion of "American League" and "National League" records should have disbanded when interleague started in 1997 and the bogus "if the AL is at home then the DH is used." And certainly this year when the NL had the full-time DH and both "leagues" are playing under the same rules. And most certainly next year when every team plays every other team -- >28% of schedule "outside" of league.

No. It's a team record. Apples to pineapples comparison. If he was playing for the Royals, no one would give one crap about it. But, it's New York.
