Rockies lost 10 out of 11. Then beat the Dodgers three in a row.

    Their over/under was 68.5 wins.

They lose today to finish 68-94 and DFL in the NL West.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bud Black is axed before the plane leaves the LAX airspace, though it's clearly not on him.

It is not the stature of the players, but the longevity and likability. Reaching the end of the line, going out on your own terms. They were shown by the fans how much they were appreciated, shown by teammates how important they were to them. I won't say any more because it might get nasty and you don't usually deserve that.

That’s what happens when your shortstop is the only guy who was physically afraid of his wife.

The Royals had a pitcher throw a pick-off throw down the line as his team trailed 9-2 in the eighth inning yesterday, as if Cleveland was going to try to steal in that situation. The camera panned to Matheny and he looked like he wanted to be fired.

Baltimore Orioles: 52-110 in 2021. 83-79 in 2022. Pretty dang incredible. Can't wait for next year.

Young Pirates rally for comeback top Cardinals in season finale to finish 62-100

The Pirates lost 100 games for the second consecutive season. Their winning percentage was even lower during the shortened 2020 season. But hey, Derek Shelton sees progress. I guess the manager has to try something to keep his job when his teams are this bad.

When asked how far the Pirates have come, Shelton framed the finish as a sign that progress is “really starting to show” in what has been a slow and sometimes painful rebuilding process.

“That’s a good question. I think we’re closer,” Shelton said. “To say how far away we are right now, I think it’s going to matter on what we do into the offseason. But I think we’re in good shape.”

They did it with the 2nd lowest payroll in baseball $64.8M. And if you think the orioles are going to the free agent market and sign a player to make a significant % of that you obviously don’t know the horrific ambulance chasing angleos family.

Mileage differs for different individuals. Myself, I thought those were two pretty touching moments.

There's always been an unspoken rule about males getting emotional about things that invoke emotion. A stupid unspoken rule, in my opinion.

Suzuki played 16 years, for 5 teams. Won a World Series ring and hit a home run in the WS. He’s not in the HOF. He will never make a ring of honor on the pro level. He had a glorious career and he’s worth getting a brief moment at his retirement
