In an overreaction, Wasserman now discounts almost all polls, and especially discounts polls showing Democrats leading. It's a classic example of the trend where the "data-based" analysts, confronting the fact political data is unreliable, have reverted to just confirming their priors. That is, party holding the White House almost always loses seats in the midterm, therefore that is what's happening now no matter what polls say.
He could be right, but it's just a fucking guess.
