If this were a Scooby-Doo episode, the gang would have just walked up to Romano and pulled his mask off to reveal it was John Tavares or some other member of the Leafs.

Two games that couldn't be more different, except for the tension.

They're already throwing bouquets at that legendary Busch Stadium crowd, the ones who left en masse before the end of Game 1.

Is it possible these really good pitchers are pitching against other really good pitchers?

For all their fucking hitting the farthest/furthest the Jays could get was swept in the wild card.

It's the obvious answer, but as the finest of their era, they're expected to be just a little bit better than other teams' No. 1 starters.

There were probably more people in T Mobile today than in 3/4 of the Mariners games in the Kingdome.

Man, this has been a fun summer and fall. Not the year that saved baseball in Seattle, that will always be 1995, but definitely the year that re-established it. The M's had lost a lot of ground to the Seahawks, Kraken and Sounders by being so bad for so long. It's sort of a backhanded compliment, but Seattle is a great baseball city when the team is competitive.

The Orioles were enough to make me get into baseball more than I have in a decade.

To take a random example, when Whitey Ford went 0-2 in the 1963 World Series, the winning pitcher in each game was Sandy Koufax.
