Great player and part of the backbone of that dynasty who should probably be in.

 

I think they both should be in. But it is just very St. Louis to think their good thing is the greatest thing that ever was.

What I didn't like about Molina is that for a while he was one of the self-appointed enforcers of code. A lot of that BS was from LaRussa but he helped spread it.

 

If Yadi didn’t play in St. Louis would this even be a debate? The guy spends as much time ripping into Cardinals fans as he does saying Yadi shouldn’t be in and even then his only numbers are complaining how Yadi’s WAR is similar to guys who played fewer games. Not sure how that helps the argument: Oh my god, his fWAR (whatever that is) is right there with someone who played 500 fewer games! So he played and was good for longer? The horror! He skips over how his stats are very similar to guys in the hall. And he skips over the fact this guy was one of the top 2 catchers at the time he played for quite a while.

He’s in. And the only thing that keeps him out in the first or second round voting is because people see dumping on the Cardinals and their fans as some badge of honor. Hate the fans and dislike the team but be honest about a guy’s talent and contribution to the game.

 

Huh? When did I comment on whether or not Davis was ever a good player?

I have a problem with anybody being accused of PED use without actual evidence. I've made that abundantly clear, but seriously, I don't know where you got that bit about Davis.

That’s not how WAR works. It’s a cumulative stat. If those players had similar WAR in much fewer games, that’s better for them, not Molina. All it means for Molina is he managed to play 19 seasons and they didn’t.

 

You can’t possibly believe that last paragraph. First one isn't much better but that last one is ridiculous

 

I'm not talking about extending the series an extra day or switching ballparks. There's no problem playing all three games in the same ballpark.
I'm talking about letting the visiting team bat last in Game 2, rather than the hosts bat last in all three games. Then the hosts still have homefield advantage for the series (all three games in their home park, plus batting last in two of the three games), but the visitors can still bat last once and are rewarded with an advantage if they win Game 1.

Seriously, I'm guessing they just don't want to deal with the confusion.

 

They've been doing that on the opening round of the juco playoffs as long as I can remember.
