Looks like the move of the year was by Mets GM Bill Eppler getting rid of Lindor's blow buddy.

Masturbate over numbers and cybercum? I hesitate to think what you do while you stare at the Yadier Molina poster on your wall.

Which Cardinal has been held out of the HOF because of hatred of their team or fan base?

    Let's compare Molina's #s to another catcher, with Molina's #s first

    Games: 2224-1988
    Runs: 777-856
    Hits: 2168-1782
    HR: 176-324
    RBI: 1022-1070
    Ave.: .277-.252
    Total bases: 3,118-3,113
    Slugging: .399-.440
    OPS: .726-.753
    OPS+: 96-106
    WAR: 42.3-39.6
    Silver Slugger: 0-6
    All-Star: 10-8 (Molina's last one was a courtesy selection).
    Gold Glove: 9-3

If Molina is a sure-first first-round HOF, shouldn't a catcher who had more runs, homers, RBIs, a higher OPS, OPS+, the same # of total bases in about 240 fewer games and 6 more Silver Slugger awards merit more than nine votes in his only year on the HOF ballot? They are pretty close to the same player, no?

I mean the last one to go in who was unmistakably a Cardinal on a BBWAA ballot was Ozzy Smith in 2002.

But if we’re posting articles that is as much a critique of Cardinals fans as a genuine look at the merits of Molina’s credentials where the “evidence” of his dubious resume is “numbers” that are unspecified and fWAR that people who didn’t play as long matched. Can I just repeat that for a moment: the author took it as a bad thing that Molina play 1,000 more games than Posey, 400 more than Maur and 500 more than Russell Martin. As a catcher. It’s a knock that he—a catcher—played so long.
