    If we're talking on-field performance, Baylor has made worse hires than Briles. (Dave Roberts and Kevin Steele come to mind). Now, if we're factoring in off-the-field issues as well, then Briles is the clear winner.

    Some of those names don't belong, when you factor in the school and when the choice was made. To me a bad hire is Petrino's second stint at Louisville AFTER he bolted for the Falcons, then bolted from there for Arkansas and had his little motorcycle mishap.
    Or you hire someone who looks like a bad fit at the opening presser. Or someone with baggage.
    It didn't work out for Frost at Nebraska, but coming off his run at UCF, any school would have hire him.
    Rodriguez was an odd choice at Michigan, just because of his offense.
    But most of those on the list were coming from top tier programs that won - and the others were just emergency hires to "keep the commits together."
