Not Veeck. Hint: Minor league team. The owner later owned several top-level teams.

Pretty sure you nailed it. Toronto Maple Leafs of the International League.

I'm not old enough to remember the Montreal Royals, but growing up in an International League city I do remember the Maple Leafs. I think their final season was 1966 or 1967, then the franchise was shifted to Louisville. The heart of the 1967 Boston Impossible Dream team came up through Toronto.

Watching the Bisons play Toronto, Toledo, Syracuse, Rochester, Columbus, Jacksonville and Atlanta (pre-1966, then Richmond) in the old IL was a staple of my youth.

I saw the Atlanta Crackers play in Ponce de Leon Park as a very small child, also saw them play in brand spanking new Atlanta Stadium the year before the Braves moved to Atlanta. I have zero recollection of the opposing team, however.

Who is the only player in NBA history to be MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP all in the same season?

That sounds like a Michael Jordan thing, but that would be too obvious.

It should be Bill Russell. But all of those awards probably didn't exist when he played.

Good guess. But he “only” got 2 out of 3 in ‘83. Moncrief was DPOY that year.
