MLB 2022: The Long and Winding Thread

I went to bed with the Dodgers up 2-0 no outs and bases loaded in the 7th and they lost?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!!

 

Dodgers gak competes one of the saddest sports days in Ellay in a long time.

 

I mean I’m here for the LA tears but is two years really “in a long time?”

 

Start the bitching about having too many off days between the regular season and the wild card series for the top two seeds. Yes, the Phils and Pads had a chance to experience the postseason pressure, but the Braves and Dodgers are basically the same teams from 2021. No excuses for not being prepared to play.

 

A view and sound I’ve never experienced: a ballpark as the unthinkable happens:

 

It was 2-0 when I fell asleep and I wake up to look at the screen and Soto is jumping around with a bottle in his hand. Fitting end to a weird playoff day.

 

Big picture. First USC shitting the bed then the Dodgers.

 

I've missed RBI base hits. Hell, I've missed rallys where the tension keeps getting ratcheded up. More please.

 

As a Dodgers fan it’s frustrating. We invest so much time into watching the team only to see them shit the bed once again. It’s like watching a great TV series that has a terrible finale.

Even worse, they lost to the Padres, who deserved to win that series. I live in an area with a lot of San Diego fans and they talk a lot of crap for a team that has never won anything.

The Dodgers are built for 162 with their depth and roster maneuvers, but not for a short series. The one common denominator in these postseason failures in Dave Roberts. Great guy, great in the clubhouse but he can get the team near the finish line, but not over it. Yes, they won once and should have been twice if not for the cheating Asstros, but it’s not enough. It’s time for a new voice and a manager that knows how to use a pitching staff.
