Ukraine Always Get What You Want

The Ukrainians have already been on the offensive. Which is good when you take territory, not as good when you stretch out your supply lines and burn out your men and equipment. They might need a pause themselves to refit and rearm, and consolidate some gains.

Depends on how long the negotiations and temporary "cease fire" last. Weeks? Months?

    It was years in Chechnya.

How'd that 2014 Russian cease fire turn out in Crimea?

Also, making missiles? Or buying them?

This "cease fire" isn't going to last years. Or months. Ukraine won't allow that.

If they are buying missiles, they don’t need a cease fire to rearm. If they have to wait for the ones they buy to be built, the original question stands.

And Russia didn’t exactly decide after three years of a cease fire in Chechnya they were ready to start again. There were many other factors.

They are buying missiles from North Korea. They could get missiles from Iran. Perhaps the Chinese step off the sidelines and give stuff, but only if their economy totally ranks and they need the cash. Also the Chinese are saving up ammo for that Taiwan mission.

I hate to belabor a point, but not one missile Russia is firing — whether it be Russian, North Korean or Martian — has any significant military effect on Ukraine.

I googled Starlink and clicked on their main web page.

First of all, their web page is plain AF. Red flag No. 1.

They want you to enter your address to "check availability," i.e. enhance their mailing list. Red flag No. 2.

If you live anywhere south of Flin Flon, you should be good to go.

The prices are not terribly unreasonable if that's the only option, but I live where there are multiple high speed options. Or at least high enough to suit my needs.

With a braintrust like this, I can't imagine why a simple, little special military operation is going so poorly.

The distance between the northeasternmost oblast of Ukraine and Moscow is just over 300 miles as the crow flies.

If Zelensky felt Putin was running low on cruise missiles and wanted to goad him, a warning shot over the bow (over Red Square) would be easily attainable from this location.
