I just heard that Cleveland had checked out of the hotel before heading to the Stadium yesterday. Their plan was to head to Houston if they won or back to Cleveland if they lost, so they had their bags with them. When the game was rained out, they went back to the hotel, but it was overbooked, so they had to shuffle off different groups of players to multiple hotels.

    That's just brutal.

In the 2008 Series, when Game Five in Philly was called before five innings, the Rays had the same problem and wound up in my hometown of Wilmington, Del., about 30-40 minutes from the ballpark, and incidentally a very. very nice hotel.

The Yankees never have problems like that because they have the best assistant to the traveling secretary in baseball.

Didn't he book them at that Ramada in Milwaukee that one time?

No, not that one. I actually thought that was funny, although I do feel bad for the office employees who have to put up with that.

Why does the Yankees' centerfielder have a mouthpiece?

This has not been a good game for Francona. Starting that scrub and not challenging a call at first he clearly would've won.

Despite the weather (and suspect scheduling) wrecking the Yankees-Guardians series, I like this playoff format so much better than the previous one. The one-game wild card, to me, was meh. Didn't feel like the losing team even made the playoffs.

And the top two seeds get every advantage. They just forgot to win in the NL. And the Padres and Phillies were expected to be pretty good so it's not totally crazy.

Civale is not a scrub. He’s just been injured for months. It should've been a bullpen game.

Civale very well could win 15 games next year.
