My first inclination is to dismiss any attempted reboot of the Naked Gun series, but I'm always willing to give Liam Neeson a chance.
I'd love to see this one end with Mike Trout being brainwashed into trying to kill King Charles.

 

With Kyrie Irving as Dribbin's Partner.

 

Is there a credible King Charles impersonator yet?

 

This could be cathartic.

 

This news came out while I was on vacation. Neeson's casting and Akiva being involved are positives - MacFarlane being involved, not so much. Part of what makes "Naked Gun" work, and "Airplane" before it, is that you have good or serious actors playing the material completely straight. That's why the material works. MacFarlane isn't exactly known for subtly in a lot of his work.

 

They also work because they're genre parodies rather than aping specific bits from other movies like the Scary Movie franchise and its clones.
That's a small thing that makes a huge difference. The Naked Gun spoofed the tropes of cop movies but was mostly original material.

 

Trailer for "Creed III" dropped. Apparent synopsis: An old neighborhood friend shows up after spending 18 years in jail; turns out he's ripped and a vicious fighter. Oh, and very jealous of Donnie's success. You know where that's headed. Final clip shows one boxer in white trunks and the other in black. Subtle. Still, I'll be there opening week.

 

How involved was Ryan Coogler? If not much at all, I'm worried.

 

I still think Rocky is going to sneak into the movie for a scene or two.

 

So Creed is Black Panther and Johnathan Majors is Killmonger.

 

Anyone know of anything interesting dropping before Christmas? Not a super hero or Avatar guy.

I go to a movie on the afternoon of the 25th. Last year I was very excited for Licorice Pizza. This year I don’t see anything like that coming down the pipe.

Worst case scenario I see Maverick for the third time.
