CLE management and their fans, who sold their WS Game 7 tickets to Cubs fans, are an exquisite match and deserve each other.

I think there is a big gap after the top two starters for both teams, so winning those matchups is going to be huge.

Also, it's not like Schwarber's home run was ignored.

No, it really doesn't make more sense. You just don't want to hear it, perhaps can't even hear it. It's what apologists for baseball and the built-in advantage for high-revenue franchises do.

Just as many Cubs fans sold WS tickets to Indians fans in the earlier games.

I've seen QAnon theories that make more sense than the absolute stupidity that Cleveland sat their ace in Game 5 with a trip to the ALCS on the line, because the GM wants to trade him in the off season and didn't want to risk the guy hurting himself before he can trade him.

Occam's razor says Cleveland thought it had a better chance of using someone else and having Bieber available for Game 1 of the ALCS.

Of course, you can't win if you can't score. Was Bieber going to shut out the Yankees?

That's all they got? One goddamned hit?

Except it makes perfect sense. It is how low-revenue franchises often operate. I'm sorry you don't understand that and feel the need to lash out at those who challenge your defense of baseball's unbalanced financial system.

Eh, it was on FS1. Nobody's watching it anyway.

Lost in this game — and I know it happens often — is one moment when CLE had bases loaded with one out in the 4th or 5th and down 4-0. Ramirez crushes one down LF line. Foul. A split second later and it’s tied.
I don’t know anything about Guardians’ intentions re Bieber. But I wonder if Francona’s previous decisions are relevant here. Circumstances change year to year with regard to long-term organization plans.
And I do find it interesting that Bieber did not say, “Yeah, I wanted the ball, but I respect the decision.”
