I find myself rooting for the Astros just to see the heads of Yankees fans explode.

What a clever line. Especially from a guy who hails from one of the armpits of America. I say that as a Michigan native, by the way.

Most people in the Midwest live in suburbs that all look and feel exactly the same and people arguing over where is a good place to live and a bad place to live are arguing over which place’s Applebee’s has faster serving time and which suburb’s Home Depot has those giant 14-foot pumpkinhead skeletons in stock and which ones don’t and which suburb’s Starbucks drive through only takes three hours to maneuver. It all is concrete and gray and cold and it sucks and people on the coasts and down south laugh at all of us equally.

    Eat at Arby’s.

    Counterpoint:
Hader has never hit 100 mph in his career, and he has 5 or 6 100 mph pitches this post season.

I was just responding to the post about him being over whatever went wrong from late June through August. He righted the ship in September. That he may be throwing even better now doesn't mean he hadn't turned it around sooner than people realize.

Or there have been a couple hot guns.

I think I saw something that Hader was going too much with his heater during his slump. He gets people to swing uphill and that's not always a good thing.

That could be. He has always had stretches of poor control. When he gets in trouble, it is usually because he is walking or hitting batters. In this case, he was also getting hit hard, which rarely happens.

The other rumor was the he was tipping his pitches, but I think that is something some analysts just throw out there when they can't figure out why a good pitcher is getting lit up.

I don't even understand why the guy was traded. He was a premium left-handed asset. A pathetic trade for Milwaukee.
