The guns are obviously hot. The readings don't matter with a guy like him, the movement does.

Defending Josh Hader in a future ridiculous debate on SJ.com >=-------=< things I never thought I'd be doing, at the trade deadline.

    That Hader just whiffed Stanton.

You find a sample size of one at-bat convincing? Yeah, that explains a lot about when we were in a fantasy baseball league together.

That said, at a glance, Abreu was the only reliever I could find who fit the description Hermes provided, and this is the first time he has thrown more than 25 innings in a major-league season. There were a few other relievers who had an ERA that low, but none threw that hard.

He hasn't allowed a run since Sept. 5. There are 'dozens' of relief aces who can do that too, please be aware.

The little one is going to shank him.

And had a negative WAR this year that they paid ELEVEN MILLION DOLLARS for.

I’ll take Trevor Stephan. Who made…drumroll…$700,000.

Would you rather have Hader or Cleveland’s entire bullpen?

Develop these guys and you don’t have to squander resources on them.

What did he do before that?

    He’s overpaid.

I think they saw a team that traditionally likes to eat fat contracts and pulled the trigger.
He's what the market decides he's worth. The next deal should answer that.

Hader has dominated since 2017 with the exception of one 10-week stretch. Finding relievers to put up good numbers for one season is easy. Finding ones who can do it consistently is not.

Stephan is another reliever who didn't match your criteria. His ERA was 2.69. He wasn't consistently pitching in high-leverage situations,, either, and this was his first good season in the majors.

That 1.23 ERA, 0.84 ERA, 37 saves, and 102 strikeouts in 58 2/3 innings pitched in 2021 was pretty good. I guess you don't like samples that include seasons before 2022. Oh, he didn't give up a run until June or after Sept. 5 this season.

He's not overpaid. Not even close.

My daughter was watching the game tonight with a bunch of Yankee fans. I told her to yell Go Astros just to see their heads explode. Sadly, she didn't listen. :)

And the game in 2019 when he could have done mankind a favor and eliminated the Washington Nationals Baseball Club Inc., from the playoffs.
