I do find it fascinating that the "conservative movement" has been so muddled and tarnished by fascist elements, that the apparent solution is to just chuck the classical conservatism (low taxes, strong military, family values) and go full bore crazy town.

 

While actually using “the Left is making us do this” defense.

 

I think a third party might have legs if they just promised "sensible government" - keeping our promises to vets and seniors, passing budgets (not taking the debt ceiling hostage to pass interim funding bills), protecting freedoms (whatever they may be), and ensuring our government is in decent shape for our kids to inherit and thrive.
I understand Republican voters feeling the need to defeat the Dems at all costs, judging from the crud they refer to as their "news" on the radio, TV and internet. But really, their solutions to what ails the country are nonsense.

 

The cost of lib ownership is extraordinarily high. So high, in fact, we just might pay for it for the rest of our lives......
