Derek Jeter broke his ankle, in Game 3, I think.

It was mentioned previously, but the Big Red Machine absolutely ran the Yankees over in that series. Stanford Steve of ESPN fame asked on Twitter this week why he's never seen a highlight from that series, and the reason is because it sucked. The Yankees didn't hold a lead until Game 4, namely the first three innings thereof, and that's it. Kind of too bad it sucked given the Bicentennial and all.

Just realized that four of the five games in this best-of-five series went to extras. May need to fire up the YouTube for that.

I was 12 when I watched that LCS. Was real disappointed because I was rooting for the Astros, but it was one hell of a series.

    Philly in 5.
And as good natured as Philly fans are, I doubt they’ll even bring up the trash can mess. Nope. Not even once.

I really can't wait to listen to some New York sports talk radio today. Yankee fans will be losing their minds. Given the sad state of my favorite football team, I can use the entertainment.

The Phillies seem to have a little magic and a lot of power on their side. The Astros are the better team, especially their bullpen, but Altuve and Alvarez have to be better in the World Series than they were in the ALCS. Alvarez alone can carry a team.I know people hate the Astros, but I'd love to see him put on a show on the national stage. I certainly find him easier to root for than Harper.

You're in for a treat if you do. The last two games were amazeballs weird baseball.

I like that Harper put a team into the World Series with a moment like that, first time doing it, age 30.

It's all crapshoot, just predictions, but I think he's going to rake in the series.

If he sees a strike on any count above 1-2 I'll be shocked.

Your $120 million average salaries to players, etc., (30 times 4 million) sure doesn’t include the pirates and Marlins.

I don't think Bruce Sherman, principle owner of the Marlins, is a billionaire. I know Bob Nutting is one, but he is intent on never investing any of it in the Pirates.

That '80 LCS was fantastic. Del Unser went 5-11 in the post-season (all as a PH) three of them doubles, pretty sure all three of his RBIs either tied or gave the Phils the lead against Houston or KC. Scored four runs on those five hits. One of the things I love about the post-season is dudes coming out of nowhere - Brian Doyle anyone?

Where are they now? Del Unser

Del Unser. Have vague memories of him. He played only 2 more years after the '80 playoffs.
