Mayor Pete's the guy in '24.

 

President-apparent Pelosi becomes Minority Leader immediately after the swearing in following the Red Tsunami.

 

Pete’s not likely to be the guy. There are people (Liz Warren) who think he’s a corporate phony.

 

That's not why he won't be the guy, but he should be.

Mayor Pete faces one big political problem he has to solve. It's hard but doable. He has to develop support among the middle-aged and older black voters who make up a decisive bloc of the Democratic party electorate in important primary states.
Oh, yeah, and it would help if he developed some memory trick making it easier for people to spell his last name.

 

Maybe Sir Mix-a-Lot could rap about it.

 

What he needs is somebody like Jim Clyburn or some other person of stature within a specific bloc (environment, labor, Emily's List) to say THIS is the candidate you will vote for. He seems to have a real hard time collecting "chits," but it sounds like he's been busy on midterm campaigns so that could help.

 

Grassley is now in a dogfight in Iowa.

 

"If you like big butts, vote for Pete Booty Judge."

 

Buttigieg isn’t going to be President anytime soon, and probably not anytime ever. This country isn’t ready to vote for a gay man. Probably two generations away, and once it happens there will be an Obama-sized backlash.
