They were siloed in the old days. They might write a letter to the editor. They might subscribe to a whackjob newsletter. But that was it. They were alone. They didn’t get the positive reinforcement of finding fellow travelers on the crazy train.

 

Remove the part about Amber Heard and this could be 3/4 of the GOP elected officials in my state. And that's a very low estimate on my part.

 

While it seems clear that Pelosi's attacker had no particular ideological objective, in the interest of magnanimity I am going to go ahead and declare my wager with @Regan MacNeil to be lost. He has yet to specify his charity, so I will make a down payment of $50 to NAMI.org. Good sir MacNeil still has "coming to him" $50 for a charity that touches his heart.
