Close, compelling fight certainly through the first 10 rounds. I had it 7-5 for Loma but the younger, bigger, stronger man made him earn it. I think Haney might be a bridge too far for Loma right now.

Yeah, way off base, I had it even after 10.

Arthur Mercante Jr. pretty much inserting himself in the Richard Torrez fight was some of the worst refereeing I have seen in a while. His father never would have done that.

Is Bivol worthy of fighter of the year consideration?

I watched it, he wasn't going to win the fight but he was competitive. I never saw a reason to stop the fight before the 12th. Weeks was correct to stop it when he did after the second knockdown but when he waved it off nobody - ringside doctors, his corner - came in to the ring, it was up to Weeks and Morell to carry him back to his corner.

It sounds like he’s going to survive, though he’s probably going to end up like Gerald McClellan if I had to guess.

Ah, this guy got barred from SJ but he’s still out there (Scoop, not Nigel):

Some may recall he claimed to know the real story of the second Leonard fight after a guy in a Duran jacket decided to let him in on what really happened one night at Foxwoods.

Oh yeah, he also claimed Fury hit the deck on his own accord in the last round of the first Wilder fight - a fiight he was winning on the cards after 11 rounds - in order to get a draw and set up a big-money rematch.
