I don't remember that, but I remember the guy who tried to shove his girl onto the mega waterslide before they got overtaken by the Globetrotters.

It wasn't really a slap, but Jonathan and Victoria (worst Racers ever) were constantly at each other's throats, and Jonathan shoved Victoria on camera to the point that Victoria showed up at the mat crying her eyes out, and Phil had to tell Jonathan to comfort and apologize to his wife. It was not great.

Sorry for the delay from me. Your Pool Runner ran off on a well-earned vacation last week. I was also shocked to see my team visualize and then win a leg!

Aubrey and David...don't quite strike me as the smartest, as they were standing in front of the puzzle they were supposed to be creating and confused about the whole thing. This is actually a really competitive Race. There's about 5 standout teams that I could see going to the finale at this point, but none of them are really all that much stronger than the others. I see Abby & Will and Luis and Michelle as serious sleeper teams. They've been flying under the radar so far, but they're playing the game really intelligently. And with the lack of non-elimination legs...once again, all it takes is one bad taxi to completely hose your team.

Yes, thank you for clarifying. I was trying to verify my point, which I remembered wrong, but that was the team.

I'm so sad for Abby & Will. I hope they can come back on an Unfinished Business season or something.

The brothers had an excellent strategy for the alphabet task, then were felled by bad navigation. Also I get why they weren't sure if the cart Roadblock was a "details" task or not. I would not have wanted to have to take that whole thing apart if they were really needing an exact number of nails, or whatever.

I still love Glenda and Lumumba. There's just so adorable and positive, even going up against a slew of professional dancers at the Detour.

(my secret theory about TAR is the producers are a little sadistic. I know, let's stick the teams in Jordan in the hot sun where every sign is in Arabic and make them try to navigate the city on foot!)

I'm going to guess the locals must be a bit better at building those carts than the TAR competitors were.:) It seemed like every team wound up carrying their cart rather than pushing/wheeling it anywhere.

I chuckled a little over Derek, who looked like he was gagging or choking as he was trying to learn to roll his R's. Not that I'd do any better. I also cannot roll my tongue, not for anything.

I, too, felt bad for Abby and Will being eliminated as a result of something totally unrelated to the race, and I, too, have liked and enjoyed Glenda and Lumumba very much. I hope they can overcome the deficit they're going to face next week.

And, lastly: Wenders, how does it feel to be atop the pool? (I myself have never been there, so I wouldn't know:)).

Finally got caught up with this season. I really want to go to Austria, Germany and oh, yeah, Italy. Friend of mine's son is an archaeology major at one of the universities here and his program went to Jordan pre-Covid. He said there's no way TAR could do justice to how massive Petra is or how much water and sunscreen you'd need.

Really tough break for Will and Abby. Hopefully they get another shot at it down the road. Has anyone ever quit the race for anything but medical reasons? I couldn't recall.

I got luck of the draw several seasons ago and won the whole pool before I took it over. I had forgotten what that was like. That visualization Luis did must have been something. Can he do a YouTube channel so I can implement it in my own life? LOL

Teams that have quit the Race:
Maria & Tiffany (TAR15 - could not complete the Detour and took a 24-hour penalty. Technically, they were Philiminated but they quit)
DeAngelo & Gary (TAR32 - the season with the alliances)

Teams that quit due to medical reasons:
    Lance & Marshall (TAR5)
    Dave & Connor (TAR22)

There's been several teams that didn't quit so much as had to have Phil come find them and eliminate them somewhere on the course because they were so far behind. I think the most egregious one - I was watching old seasons during COVID and the teams were trying to get from South America to South Africa. One team opted to take a ridiculous flight path and got stranded for an entire day at Heathrow, so every other team had already completed everything in South Africa and checked in before they even left England.

I still remember the poor girls on a needle-in-a-haystack (literally) Road Block where Phil came out and told Lena / Kristy to stop unrolling hay bales looking for a clue, they were out.

Didn't Mike White (the actor/writer) and his dad drop out on a redemption/all-star season because dad got hypothermia on a real cold leg?

I remember some of the teams that got Philliminated but I couldn't remember a team that Phil had to talk back into the race at the mat because they wanted to quit because it was too hard.

I don't remember DeAngelo and Gary quitting. Didn't they get to the near-end? I remember they were really ticked off (and I didn't blame them) that the other remaining teams pointedly shut them out of the help they were giving to each other.

...Oh, now I recall: They struggled with that last task, and without help, figured they'd never get it (and yeah, they probably wouldn't have), so they just stopped.

They were sent directly to the elimination station after they developed hypothermia, but they were behind all of the other teams.

I'm really going to miss Glenda and Lumumba. They were such a positive team, even when they were behind, they were still smiling and communicating well. I also am still impressed with the twins, especially the one that is having all of the leg issues.

Derek and Claire seemed to get back on track after a few weird legs. I also really liked Michelle's device for remembering that family tree task. That would have been hard. (Also where tf was Marcus going after he repeled down? It looked like he ran all the way out of the castle looking for the answer area.)

    Pool update:
    Huggy - Marcus & Michael | 65
    Wenders - Luis & Michelle | 58
    UNC Grad - Derek & Claire | 52
    WolvEagle - Emily & Molly | 47

    nietsroob17 - Aubrey & David | 22
    *bumpy mcgee - Rich & Dom | 8
    *tea and ease - Tim & Rex | 7
    *Aastha & Nina | 1
    * team has been eliminated

(I'm cracking up that Mrs. @TigerVols is going to finish higher in the pool than he is.)
