Yep. I haven’t been inside a grocery store in about 18 months. We do curbside or delivery.

The new-ish one in Fairfax? I've been in that one a couple of times and the eye in the sky thing kind of creeps me out. But it is easy. Walk in, grab your stuff, walk out. Never been overcharged. They did miss one item once. My daughter and I grabbed the same thing at the same time. I put mine back, she put hers in the cart.

Yes, the one in Fairfax City. But it certainly beats self check out.

I never inherited that skill from my father.

I always use self checkout unless I am buying a ton of fruit/veggies. I also bag my own groceries at places like Trader Joe’s which don’t offer self checkout. I don’t like wasting time.

I'm surprised you bag your own at TJ's, since that's one of the few places where they don't fuck around with that. :) "Why yes, you bought $150 worth of crap - Don't worry, it fits into these two paper bags."

And heaven forbid you have a coupon at Kroger, then you gotta get the attendant over to verify. At Meijer self-checkouts, you scan the coupon and put in a slot. They have that app scan feature too, I tried it once but feel like I'm quicker just doing the self-scan at the end.

Was five years younger than Reilly is now when he started that 60 Minutes segment.

When we're back in MN my wife hits the Walmart, but after like 7 p.m. it's all self-checkout.

A few weeks ago she was trying to get a tank top-type thingy through it and it wouldn't work. Finally an employee wandered over. A kid of about 20, she said. He tried it. Didn't work. Kept trying and couldn't get it. Finally a middle-aged female employee came over and asked what was going on.

The kid goes, "We can't get this brassiere to go through." But he pronounced it very strangely, my wife said. Like "Bruh-zhuuhre."

    The woman said, "The what?"

    "This bruh-zhuuhre."

The woman employee then said, "Okay, first, this isn't a bra. It's a shirt. And if you thought this was a bra we all now know you've never actually seen one on anyone."

I always bag myself and even before NJ required it, we used the reusable bags to enter the sweepstakes
