For their sake, I hope the camera crew in G&L's car wasn't the same one that was in that car that flipped over in Africa however many years ago.

I thought this was the best episode thus far. I would love to have one of those "ball in the hole rope" games.

A very similar thing happened to my sister and her family on a rural Lancaster, PA road. The roadside looked like flat grass into a field, but nope, a ditch first. A farmer on a tractor appeared seemingly from nowhere to tow them out. Good times.

Why does my team feel like they need to constantly share their dreams??

You knew time was running out for Quinton & Mattie, just like we know that time is running out for Aubrey & David. The Top 4 are very solid teams and the pool is still pretty wide open, which is a rare occurrence.

Also, I would totally have done that rugby challenge, and the brick laying challenge. (There's no way I would have opened myself up to butchering the French language on national TV like that. LOL)

    Pool update:
    Huggy - Marcus & Michael | 68
    UNC Grad - Derek & Claire | 68
    Wenders - Luis & Michelle | 63
    WolvEagle - Emily & Molly | 51
    *WriteThinking - Quinton & Mattie | 32
    *MRS TigerVols - Glenda & Lumumba | 30
    *TigerVols - Abby & Will | 26
    nietsroob17 - Aubrey & David | 24
    *MTM - Linton & Sharik | 21
    *bumpy mcgee - Rich & Dom | 8
    *tea and ease - Tim & Rex | 7
    *Aastha & Nina | 1
    * team has been eliminated

My wife and I discussed that we would've been completely lost on the language task. And she would've absolutely killed the brick challenge - likely asking me to just go stand in a corner while she did it so as not to screw anything up.

    I'd be the worst racer.

I agree, the top four teams can all win, and I'm finding them all pretty likable.

I've been impressed with Emily and Molly.

All-girl teams sometimes are at a disadvantage right off the bat, given some of the physical, strength-oriented challenges (of which there have not been many (any?) so far this season), but I'm liking them and am glad they've done well. Derek and Claire have been my favorites, though.

Does there seem to be a lot more manual, paper-mapping being done this season? Kind of seems that way to me.

And this episode showed, once again, how traffic, a bad drive or directional mistake, by either contestants or taxi drivers, is so critical in TAR.

I think because of COVID, they're trying to do less of public transit and taxi cabs, hence all of the paper map driving. Which I would be a badass at, because I am a map and navigational queen. (Probably also why we haven't seen them go to Asia. Can't imagine trying to justify that many people crammed in a tuk-tuk would be good for CBS right now.)

I'm okay with the lack of strength-based challenges because it's just no fun to see weaker teams (like the all-female teams, although Glenda would have BESTED some of those challenges and left the men in the dust) struggle through unrolling a hundred hay bales. I think there have been too many language-based challenges this year. I can really see where the producers are struggling to come up with tasks that are socially distanced and still challenging for multiple teams.

There have been too many “learn these words and repeat them” and “build this” tasks this season. Not many “climb this” or “rappel that,” which are more fun to watch.

I understand why, but it’s made for a less exciting season,

Drink whenever Claire said 'Derek' this last episode and you'd be out cold in 30 minutes.

Thank you, CBS, for the Megaleg, because I was so busy at work this week that I didn't get to watch the ep until tonight. :D

Malaga looks beautiful. I'm all in for a trip. I'll skip the salted sardines though.

It seemed weird to see Marcus and Michael running last, and I was really curious to see the finish. I thought it'd wind up being close, being that Emily and Molly didn't complete the fish fry correctly right off the bat, and I think Emily's bad knee might catch up with them soon. Still, I wanted to see, and it made me actually a little disappointed that it turned out to be a mega-leg.

Finally got a chance to catch up on the season. MRS TV wins the championship in our household. Albeit on a Covid technicality!!!

I don't know how much longer Emily's knee will hold out. They got lucky for Marcus and Michael falling so far behind. Condolences, Huggy. I honestly thought they were the team to beat.

That arch task looked ridiculously hard.
