I'm wondering if the umpiring temperature right now is like the NHL linesman hesitating to hand out a power play during sudden-death OT. When it gets down to crunch time, he doesn't want to become the story.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS. I don't think he missed getting any of that one.

Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron are sitting together somewhere, in awe of that home run.

Schwarber smashes a homer then boots two balls, giving up a run, and bunts on two strikes to end the 8th. Have a night.

Does anybody at Fox own a map? Flower Mound is a suburb of Dallas, not Houston. He's not pitching in his hometown stadium, you foofs.

Good pitching beat good hitting, Chapter Infinity of baseball's oldest story. No complaints from this Phillies fan. Been one hell of a month. Go back far enough in this thread, you'll find me expressing doubt they'd even make the playoffs and certainty they'd get smoked by the first team they played if they made it. A flawed team that wrung the most out of itself until the Astros pitching wrung them out for keeps.
