Same from this Phillies fan. It was such an out of nowhere run that you can't be upset with getting to the World Series and losing. And even though they were up 2-1 in the Series itself, they were just outplayed these last three games. Sucks that they couldn't finish it, but it's hard to get too upset about losing to a 106-win team.
In terms of matchups, it was a bit like the 1993 World Series. That one still stings, though, because it was very winnable and they blew it. This one, they just lost.

Score three runs on what, seven hits? in three games, a team's liable to lose them all. Talent was much more even in '93. This year, well, a 12 man staff with 12 good pitchers is hard to beat.

The good news is the Phillies were really good for a long time after that! Right?

This team was like 10 games out of 1st place, wouldn't have made the playoffs in 93

And now an offseason with no labor talks and a giant pool of big-name free agents. This should be a fun ride.

In my lifetime, at least, the Phillies are like those cicadas that come out of the ground every 15 years or so (1980/83, 1993, 2008-09, 2022). So maybe they'll be back here in 2036 or 2037.
