Not Winfield. He was on a team with Colbert and McCovey. They cut his chances down .

I'm gonna take a super wild guess with Ken Singleton or Lee May

Neither of them. May is at four…I can’t find singleton, but I think he has to be at least one.

One last try because this has got me to thinking about probably not a perennial all-star: Bobby Murcer or Andre Thornton??? How many did Rick Monday have?

Ok, the answer was Graig Nettles with eight. Only times, he didn’t lead were 1975 and 1979. Being in Cleveland in the early 1970s helped.

Also, of note, John Mayberry, who led his teams seven times to tie with Jackson and Bonds.

Nice. Never crossed my mind and probably never would have.

Thanks. When I found it, I figured it would be a great question because people would would start thinking of all of the big sluggers of the era. Despite leading the AL in home runs on year, Nettles flew under the HR radar.

Name the two people in the Baseball Hall of Fame, who were selected for their on the field play, to never get a hit in a MLB or Negro Leagues game?
