It doesn’t even matter if late numbers go completely bonkers and don’t favor Democrats. The red wave did not happen.

State rep a few towns up where I coached softball thanked his voters for re-electing him this morning. Got out and took some shots.

Somebody smarter sort this out for me: Where does the future of Roe v. Wade stand this morning?

Trumpster Lauren Boebert behind Adam Frisch in early Colorado election results

The end of the story is ... telling. And not at all surprising.

Humble brag, but an old guy sitting on a couch in a cabin in the north Georgia woods was just as prescient as the guy with the University of Chicago economics degree and a website owned by Disney. Maybe this poll forecasting job ain't all it's cracked up to be, Nate.

To be fair to the prognosticators, most of the reputable ones said there was extreme uncertainty around their forecasts. Jon Ralston in Nevada made it quite clear his predictions for his home state were more guesses than data analysis because the data was so muddy.

    Roe’s already gone.

The referendums were encouraging, but there’s still plenty of red states that have banned abortion or will try an end around for their referendums (Kansas).

Maybe the GOP figures out to dial down some of the ridiculous crazeee and puts in bans with exceptions for rape/incest/life/woman’s health/fetal anomalies. Or maybe they just try to distance themselves and focus on caravans and Hunter.

Most likely, we’re revisiting this in 2024.
