Saw that. I guess that's why there are a bunch of multiple PGA winners trying to get back on Korn Ferry.

I’ve said it a hundred times on here.
When you look up rhythm and tempo and flat getting around the golf course like there’s hookers at the bar waiting on you to get there, he’s the top of the lot. Get the number. One look. Go.

They have both earned retirements doing whatever they want to do, which in Maltbie's case I hesitate to think. But we'll miss them, and whomever steps in, based on the Golf Channel guys, is going to be way worse for viewers than Tirico in for Al.

On my first golf FAM trip as an administrator this week. My old newspaper self might have bristled at an all inclusive/paid for thing as I am going to write something for our association magazine about it. That said, Alabama Tourism already advertises with us and has for many years, so it's not a quid pro quo situation. Also, I'm scouting this as a potential member trip in the future for our association, so I'm here in two different capacities. Playing five (and a half) spots on the RTJ Trail. Started yesterday at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, hit Grand National's Lakes Course in Auburn-Opelika today. Stops left in Montgomery, Birmingham, Muscle Shoals and Huntsville before jetting home on Sunday evening. Have never played more than three days in a row of golf but the body's feeling good and I've found a consistent swing thought. Shaved four strokes off yesterday's round. Hoping to keep it up, though it's going to be hella cold on Sunday.

And if you're ever in Auburn, for God's sake, make it a point to eat at Acre, a farm-to-table place with a renowned chef that grows all of its produce right outside of the restaurant. Top three meal I've ever had in my life, right up there with Joe Beef/Liverpool House in Montreal and Oak Steakhouse in Charleston, S.C. Literally had the meat sweats by the end of it.

Maltbie, what a great character. The first Masters I ever covered -- shit, the first golf tournament I ever covered -- I was petrified that I'd commit some huge faux pas, but I still had to get a story for Thursday's paper. Wound up at the bar in the clubhouse, drinking a beer (or three) with him and some other writer whom I barely knew. Had a great time, and I got my story.
