How many times has SNL created a character out of nowhere that became such a seminal character as David S. Pumpkins? This was his third appearance, not counting that spinoff cartoon special.

Drunk Uncle and my friend to the left strike me as the strongest most recent examples, it seems that most of them are on WU now. Debbie Downer further back. They just don't do the reocurring sketches much. My favorite Halloween sketch though goes with this.

I'd agree Harlow was not a terrible host, and I'd agree I would not walk across the street to hear him rap.

Of course, I wouldn't walk across the street to hear any of you rap, so I guess we're left with Jack Harlow was not a terrible host.

I thought the COVID commercial was right on the edge of bad taste.

Here we go, another post-election Chapelle episode.

Is it a tradition that Dave Chapelle appears on SNL after every election now?

    If not, it should be.

Got a pretty good episode. Another long form political monologue, filmed piece with the Chapelle Show characters, and I liked Sarah Sherman's bit on Update.

Word is at least some of the writers boycotted over Chapelle's past comments about the LGBTQ community. Also noticed that Bowen and Molly, two gay and nonbinary cast members, were virtually nonexistent except for the Fox & Friends cold open (probably the most basic thing Bowen has done) and the filmed piece near the end. The two of them also looked to be MIA for the goodbyes.

I don’t believe in coincidences. That please don’t destroy sketch was expertly planned and executed.
