Oy. And this will drag things out even more. To me, it cements that there will never be any consequences for trump. Just infuriating.

 

She might not have lost, but she'll always be a loser.

Since she won't learn anything and will continue to be an asshole with no accomplishments, hopefully she'll get the boot in 2024.

Or, instead of overreacting, y'all could realized this is likely a necessary move. Don't they need someone with specific investigative and subpoena power going forward? Not like you can count on Congress the next two years. If charges were ready to be filed, they would be.

 

Agree with Regan (except that the DOJ does have specific investigative and subpoena power).

 

To be more specific, it avoids the appearance of a conflict of interest where Biden runs the executive branch, and hence, the DOJ, and will be running for reelection against Trump. That's why Trump's announcement was a triggering event for this. The special counsel is not starting investigations from scratch, he is taking over ongoing investigations already well in progress. If Trump waited a month to announce, these investigations might have stayed at main justice for another month, but either way, they were going to a special counsel. This does not signal a delay.

 

Trump is mean to the people they can't be mean to in a way they can't be mean. People of any political persuasion can be nice and helpful in social situations. They may largely be upstanding citizens. It's unfortunate they fell for his con in 2016 and inexplicable in 2020 and beyond. At some point, it's on them to know what they're voting for.
