Half surprised no one has created a fake Trump account and bluechecked it for $8 yet.

I mean, every time Donald Trump has issued so much as a rectal grunt during this suspension it has been headline news instantly. Besides, that bottle rocket is already heading nose down back to earth (which gives him something in common with Twitter, come to think of it.)

Musk has gone on an unbanning spree. Jordan Peterson, Kanye, Trump and the Babylon Bee - whose banishment got the ball rolling on Musk making an offer in the first place. All the worst people are emboldened.

Major brands won’t advertise on Twitter any longer. Whoever can capture most of the users quickly on a new platform will be the next big thing.

All things end. Musk killed this quicker than anyone expected.

I wonder if China will push its Twitter clone into the masses, like it’s successfully done with TikTok.

This one's pretty funny because of his subversive sarcasm:

Let's talk about explaining Twitter to the working class ...

Followed by a good story in the comments section:

Years ago, mid 1980's, I worked for a hi-tech IT company on the software team. The company was sold and within a month everyone was invited to a mandatory Friday morning meeting. Turns out there were actually 2 meetings. Those who attended meeting A were told that they still had jobs. Those who attended meeting B were told they had been terminated and they would be granted escorted access to the building to clear out their personal belongings.

By the following Friday nearly half of those in meeting A had new jobs and resigned. Those in meeting A that resigned kept in touch with the meeting B and remaining meeting A folks. Everyone in meeting B that was contacted to come back demanded multi year contracts at increased pay.

The company refused for a few weeks until they realized they had to give in because all the projects being supported by meeting A folks were now critically understaffed and delivery dates were slipping my 6+ months.

The company was sold within 18 months for parts and completely disappeared. At a substantial financial loss. No good deed goes unpunished. IMO, Musk is an arrogant untalented twit.

Edited to add: The one manager that was let go was told that the new VP didn't think he was very smart. He was a slow talkin' rural Missouri guy who was easily one of top 10 smartest people I have ever met. He started his own company and hired 8 people from meeting A. A few years later he sold the company for $$$$. He split the winnings with the meeting A hires since they each owned a cut of the company as part of their employment package. I kept running into both meeting folks for years all doing rather well. The last I heard of the brains behind that meeting A|B fiasco was selling used cars.

That the new GQC talking point on Twitter tonight, like they just discovered TikTok's origins are in China and the commies are using it to spy on us.

"Last Week Tonight" with John Oliver shreds Elon Musk.
