No wonder the Buckeyes are blue . . . and gold.

What was the story with Michigan bailing out of their scheduled game with UCLA this year? It's not like they dumped the Bruins for a better game.

Seriously. If you let an 11-1 Michigan in with that goose poop schedule, then no traditional power has any incentive ever to play a non-conference opponent with a pulse.

It’s the old Paterno argument that they need X number of home games because the football program supports Y number of sports. Of course, the school now gets how many millions from the TV contract and probably more from Nike but no one will dare call them out on it.

Eventually there will be a 13th regular season game. Too many beaks need wetting between nine game conference schedules, seven home games to balance the books, established non-conference rivalries and fans turning up their noses at shit matchups once the weather cools down.

If Michigan goes to Columbus and loses by 3 (like the last time they met with both 11-0), what one-loss team would have a better case? (That being said, I believe the Buckeyes win this by three TDs.)

One that has played tougher opponents and won a conference or at least made a league championship game.

Flip this on its head. What happens to Ohio State if Michigan wins (unlikely, but you never know)? Are the one-loss Buckeyes ahead of one-loss Clemson? How does one measure a home less against a team's biggest rival versus a loss that was a solid thumping on the road to a decent team?

Which one has played a tougher opponent Michigan will have after Saturday?
