Ohio State beat Notre Dame. Clemson got curbstomped by the Irish. That should be an easy one.

Step 1 is playing a tough opponent.
Step 2 is beating a tough opponent.

Michigan would be halfway there if it loses on Saturday.

USC's tough opponent victory resume isn't really any better now, but it would top Michigan's if it wins out.

Well, LSU played Southern, UAB and New Mexico in its OOC games this year. Alabama played Utah State, Austin Peay and UL Monroe. We'll just call their hardest OOC game (FSU, Texas) a ninth conference game. The Pac-12, Big Ten and Big 12 all play nine league games. So lets just take every SEC and ACC teams toughest OOC game, call it the ninth conference game, and I'd guess in most cases the other three are cupcake city.

You don't want to hear it, but while OOC games are an important gauge, when they're basically equally crap---as they are under your setup---you have to turn your attention to the schedule as a whole.

LSU has one top-10 win and would have two if it wins the SECCG, in addition to two other top-25 wins. Michigan would have zero top-10 wins if it loses to OSU and one top-25 win.

UAT would have no top-10 wins. UAT is not in competition with a one-loss Michigan for that last playoff berth.

Well LSU isn't gonna beat Georgia, so the SEC honks pushing their faux candidacy are gonna have to live with just one team in the CFP this year.

My contention is that TCU, USC and even Clemson should be ahead of a one-loss Michigan if they have an equal or better record.

No, they're not. But YOU are the one who started a post with, "Well, LSU played Southern . . ."

Looking as of now like lower 50s and spitting rain in Columbus for Saturday. Michigan has to be praying for wind. The Wolverines can win if this thing gets won in the trenches. If Ohio State can open things up, I think they’re a good bit better.

Now that I’m not covering that game anymore, I like to go grocery and Christmas shopping during that game. Ohio stores are empty. It’s heaven.

Is Corum even going to play? If not, that game is already over.

I'd rather watch than have my 12-hour holiday drive home, but the drive would be 16 hours if I did it on Sunday so SiriusXM's gonna have to do. And I think the OSU radio guy is great.
