Rob Ambrose out at Towson after 13 years. Gotta be a tough place, nobody seems to care about college football in Maryland. Half the crowd this past Saturday looked like Ohio State fans.

The issue with Maryland is Maryland gets curb stomped by OSU or Michigan or Penn State 19 times out of 20. At least Maryland had a shot against the UNCs, Georgia Techs, NC States of the world. Ralph Friedgen ain’t walking through that door. He hit the ceiling with what you could do there, as did Bobby Ross.

There are also FCS openings at Wofford, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, North Alabama, Charleston Southern, Lamar, VMI and The Citadel.

Colorado just has to be for leverage, right?

    That job is haunted.

Expect Matt Rhule to be batted around a lot.

As he should be. The guy salvaged Baylor after a dumpster fire. He should get a look from Penn State if James Franklin (aka BRZ) leaves after another silly season of playing footsie.

I’ve been saying Penn State should have called BRZ’s bluff and pulled his contract extension offer last year, then flown to Charlotte and handed Rhule a blank check.

I think the job he did at Temple was even better. Baylor has cash, Temple doesn't, but he won, filled the stadium and even had them talking seriously about building an on-campus facility. No one's talking about that any more.

    Colorado should offer him RFN.
