The newest one in Bellevue is, and I assume that’s where they would relocate (although I’m guessing they were going to make bank from open skates today.) The original by the same name is also still open in Antioch. If you have tickets for the college game, pray for Bellevue.

I may be way off here, but other than maybe students/alum of the two teams, who is going to attend a WMU-Northeastern game played in Nashville?

They hosted North Dakota-Penn State last year and no-longer-Sioux fans treated it like a bowl trip.

Plus in the 90s and 2000s, approximately one-third of the state of Michigan moved to Middle Tennessee.

Yeah I figured they were going for the bowl trip thing, I just wondered if it would work in hockey. Especially because those teams average 3,000 a night in their own barns.

But it’s a reason to go to Nashville, so who knows.

Those college games are often more fun to watch than the big boys.

Sure. Just seems like a pretty random event, with two lower-profile (albeit D1) teams, in a sport that doesn’t really have a bowl game structure. I’m just surprised is all.

Maybe it's the trip to Nashville for some families. Sometimes the locals come out to say hey and everybody goes home happy. ("Was that Vince Gill?!?!?!")

Also, hockey is hockey and those of us who love it will go see it played every chance we get. :)

There you go, and it is amazing how that city has changed since the early 1990s when I bused in there with a college basketball team. The driver couldn’t find the off-ramp to Tennessee State and we looped the city twice.

That might have been the night the head coach was so pissed post-game he fed us dried dog food. “Play like dogs, eat like dogs.”

The tourist-oriented part of Nashville has long hidden TSU away like it is combing over a bald spot. (Sadly you can imagine why.) Now there’s talk of putting a MLB stadium beside campus via a land swap. Crazy times.
