I’m all for making our jails more humane, but I have a hard time feeling bad for people who thought Joe Arpaio was a folk hero because he treated the people in his custody like shit.

They had a deal about 15 years ago to add House seats in D.C. and Utah so they’d balance out. The D.C. delegate insisted it was rubbish because of some gun regulation issue. I don’t remember if it was the assault weapons ban or not. She confidently said D.C. would get a better deal. They didn’t. No one’s talked about it since. She’s an idiot.
