President Biden: The NEW one and only politics thread

Protests in China seem to be gathering steam. The crackdown will probably be coming soon and be bloody.

 

It would be really interesting to know the number of Herschel Walker's supporters who are simply voting for a name/football player -- as if they're cheering a touchdown run as they watch him do it in a stadium -- and how many actually are voting for him because of his views, or even simply because he's a Republican.

I'd guess the former far, far outweighs the latter. Which is telling, and awful.

 

From talking with a retired paramedic who has been monitoring all things covid, a Tianamen-like response would not be surprising.

 

It would have to be Tiananmen x at least 100. It's getting pretty widespread and might already be too big for a military crackdown. Doesn't mean they won't try.

 

“The Chinese will overthrow a repressive regime” = “soccer will be America’s biggest sport in 20 years because everyone plays it” — I’ve heard both for most of my life. Wake me up when it happens. P.S. I hope I’m wrong.

Part of me (a very, very small part) kind of hopes Herschel wins, just to watch the swearing-in ceremony to see if he raises his right hand and goes, "I, state your name ... "
