Cincinnati is the ideal spot for Deion. A program that isn’t a blue blood and could just the attention that he would bring, post-Fickell.

The administration has fallen over itself to find football coaches that make them feel good about their inclusiveness for more than a decade. Like overcompensating for hiring Neuheisel over a much more qualified Bob Simmons in 1995. Only Embree, Tucker and Dorrell weren’t the answer. (Neither does McIntyre but he did get a 10-win season in there).

I doubt David Shaw would coach at Colorado but he fits the mold at CU… and actually has enjoyed some success.

If I was UNLV's athletic director I would simply not fire Marcus Arroyo

Pearl responds . . . with the obligatory your/you're grammatical error I see a staggering 93% of the time.

No way, Michael. With all due respect - anywhere else, just another coach? The man yearns for the spotlight. He will seek it and will get it. The media hounds seeking a “story” will be unable to resist.

I seriously doubt Cohen actually made the hire.

The school that hired Brian Kelly, Tommy Tuberville and Luke Fickell ain’t bringing in Deion.

I'd have to think Shaw's done with active coaching, although I could see him in the NFL in one of those nebulous consulting roles for a team with a solid in-place head coach. For a league struggling (well, failing without trying) with diversity, he'd be a good hood ornament for some franchise. Of course, that may not be how he rolls.

Shaw and Jason Garrett should team up to make the world’s most boring debate show on FS1.

“Politely Disagreeing” it should be called.

Smells like a Big Booster hire to me. I'm seeing all kind of resistance among regular AU fans on Twitter to the effect of "They must not want a single woman fan". Also saw a call for students to lie down and block the runway when Freeze flies in, not that it would ever happen. Basically calls to make a stink like Tennessee fans did about hiring Schiano. Problem is that he's already hired.

I think you mean Colorado. And as mentioned up thread, as soon as he has any success at that dumpster fire, he'd pull a faster Midnight Mel than Midnight Mel did.
