South Florida tweeted it will have a coach by Monday
Prime Time makes a lot of sense
USF is in the middle of Florida, easy access for a lot of recruits
Metro area but not the spotlight of Atlanta
With four teams, including rival Central Florida, leaving the AAC, it could be a quick rebuild for an upwardly mobile coach
Quick aside: The late Greg Larson, while at the Florida Times-Union, referred to Sanders as “Neon Deion” which Sanders hated
    Prime Time stuck

I also agree that Deion is not the guy but also admit there are powerful arguments hiring him. But Colorado should have told Deion to take it or leave it when they offered. Letting this drag on allowed it to become public which was a huge mistake. If Deion plays the school for another offer the CU is left without a coach five days before the portal opens up.

Last year Colorado lost six starters in the portal. Two now start at SC, one at TCU and one at Oregon. If CU does not have a coach to try to talk players into staying the kids with enough talent to find another school will. (this is admittedly probably not very roster members. The team went 1-11 for a reason) Recruiting will also be completely destroyed. Next year's team will be worst than this team, which was 127th of 131 in D-1 scoring offense and last in scoring defense.

Should we tell Colorado that early signing is in a few days or nah?

Deion's team is still playing. I'm not quite sure how the timing of these contracts work, but even if he wants to he probably can't officially accept Colorado's offer until this weekend.

Looks like Jonesboro is the cradle of Auburn coaches.

I think that Jackson State, if they chose, could hold Deion to the end of his contract term but they can not prohibit him from signing a future contract. They can certainly require he coach through next week. While Deion could not start coaching Colorado until he is released by Jackson Sate don't think there is any reason the parties can not sign a contract effective the day after his release and do a press conference on Zoom. That would provide some certainty to the Colorado football program.

If you’re Colorado and you’ve been brutal for most of the last 20 years, what does it matter if you screw the pooch on another year of recruiting? And you can just pick up guys in the transfer portal next year.

Just to answer the New Mexico State question posed earlier in the thread, they last scored 49 against an FBS opponent in 2018 .... at home against Liberty.

Lot has changed since then. NIL has given everyone permission to forgive and forget about those things we once labeled “lack of institutional control.”

Guess which team is on Auburn's schedule next November?
Auburn also plays UMass, Cal, Samford and picks up Vanderbilt on the SEC schedule. They ought to be able to sleepwalk to at least seven wins.
