That’s the cruelest thing I’ve ever seen typed.

Deion is only getting $5m/year? I don’t know what he was getting at JSU, I’d guess it was at least $2m. He doesn’t need the money. Colorado was bidding against itself. Deion had all the leverage on this one b/c Colorado was looking to go big.

No doubt that the folks in Lynchburg can do more to increase Chadwell's paycheck. But, in any other way, is it really a move up?

Aren't they still essentially chasing Bill McCartney's ghost? Similar to Nebraska chasing Tom Osborne's ghost?

He’ll be a schnook and have to stand in line at the bakery.

Pretty much. Barnett got them to the Fiesta Bowl once and that was more than 20 years ago.

Barnett was his day’s Briles in that he swept sexual assaults (including one of his own player by another player) under the rug. That program hasn’t recovered.

Per the AP's SWAC championship game story, everyone associated with Jackson State's football program ditched the postgame press conference.
Jackson State's stadium is several miles away from campus.

The question now is to what degree Deion can pull this nonsense at Colorado.

    And it's official.
Even though I think his net effect on the SWAC was positive, I'll be curious to hear the reaction from Jackson State fans and those in SWAC circles. I think a lot of fans bought what he was selling and thought he wouldn't just use this as a steppingstone job. Especially if he takes those big recruits he signed this year and leaves Jackson State as a football wasteland, I can see them turn their adulation for him to anger in a heartbeat once they realize they've been conned.
And as I noted in previous posts, there seemed to be the first hints of growing resentment toward him among the other SWAC schools. I'm betting there won't be a shortage of people saying, "See, told you he wasn't SWAC."

Colorado names Deion Sanders as head coach

I am absolutely flabbergasted Prime is going to Boulder. I never thought it would happen. As mentioned pages upthread, expect a MidnightMel c-ya if he does well.

But, hey, things got a lot more interesting here.
