The breathless way it was reported doesn't reflect the huge if as to whether the story has any meaning. Did he personally guarantee a $12 million loan for one of his companies? Who knows. Plus, not really a loophole, just the letter of the law.

 

A group of men carrying Nazi flags and performing Hitler salutes protested Saturday night in Lakeland outside an event that featured drag performances.



The men, wearing black pants and red shirts, held a banner that proclaimed in all capitals, “Drag queens are pedophiles with AIDS.” The group, most of them concealing their faces behind masks, also displayed a sign that showed the Jewish star of David, the equal sign and the Soviet hammer and sickle.

 

Transformer boxes at major substations can take months to construct and they're not in great supply.

A couple dozen yokels with minimal electrical knowledge can put rounds through these transformers in a concerted effort and set us back to the 1880s.

 

My guess is the guys holding the Christian Flag in that photo wouldn't know the difference between the Apostles Creed and Apollo Creed.

Engineering/managing substations is what my cousin does for a living. He said if someone completely destroyed a substation transformer, you are looking at a 1-3 year wait time to get a new one. He did say in an emergency situation like this, someone down the line would most likely get bumped, and Moore County would get replacements sooner.
He told me the softest targets you could hit with a light rifle to do the job, but I'll not post that.

According to reports, some of these substation targets were then filled with oil with the thought that when power was restored, they would then explode. So, some of the delay for restoring power - many will not get it back until Thursday - is because the EPA has to clear the area.

Terrorism. And tactical. I hope proper attention and punishments will happen here.
