I had forgotten the interstitials where they superimposed the Late Night logo onto everyday street scenes. I think my sense of what NYC is was low-key shaped by those visual cues.

I go into Bucc-ees just to watch the kitchen. As a person obsessed with watching assembly lines or ways products are produced, seeing fifty burritos produced in just minutes is worth it.

I also like to watch Portillo’s make hot dogs and box up chocolate cake. It’s mesmerizing.

 

I avoid going inside a Buc-ee's during the holiday season. It can be a complete zoo. The Friday before Christmas about 7 years ago I took three steps inside a store on the way back from Houston and did an about face. Completely nut-to-butt.

 

Now Herschel can go back home and use his badge on the remake of "Walker, Texas Ranger."

 

I'm still trying to wrap my arms around "the Dems only won because the other side is insane".

I mean, no shit, sherlock.

 

Cowboys fans will always love the Herschel that Jerry Jones traded in 1989 for three Super Bowl rings.

Yep. It’s a typical SEC state. Trumpists dominate every branch of government. They gave away another US Senate seat because they still worship Trump. It’s appalling that a total idiot nearly won.

 

We're up to three or four in the state now. It's still new. It's still packed inside and out at the pumps. It's also reliably as about cheap as you'll find gas anywhere near me, unless it's cheaper.

 

The scores of pumps are their saving grace. Easy to find a pump, the petrol is cheap and you can pay at the pump.

 

That's my plan 49 times out of 50.
