I don’t get what’s going on here.

Just because the “lockdowns” may have been the right call at the time doesn’t mean they weren’t devastating to a lot of people.

To shrug that off or get mad that someone mentions it simply because WE KNEW THAT ALREADY is a little weird.

School closures and many attempts at “virtual learning” were an abomination for which we’ll be paying the price for years to come.

Many local governments essentially mandated people’s livelihoods away.

It’s fair to question whether the protection those measures offered were worth it for the benefits we saw. Especially now, when we know so much more about what we were dealing with. Of course that doesn’t mean we can go back and do it over again, but if we could, things would be done a lot differently.

Mainly, the overall lack of empathy on all sides for people who were traumatized physically, mentally, emotionally, or financially will be the lasting legacy of all this.
